  • Hey, ladies! Softball tryouts are just around the corner, February 8. Make sure you are cleared through the athletic office. You can only tryout if have your clearance cards. There will be a mandatory meeting today in Enk's room 225. This meeting is only for student who are not currently in a winter sport.

  • On Saturday January 30th, the West Region held their Regional Choir, Orchestra and Band auditions. We in the Performing Arts Department are proud to report that we had two members selected and one alternate. Congratulations to Tim Brown - Regional Choir tenor, Nancy Marshall - Regional Choir soprano alternate, and Noel Washington - Regional Orchestra viola.

  • Tonight is senior year for your boys' varsity basketball team! Come on out and support your 17-3 Patriots and support Tyler, Victor, Corbin, Anthony and Danny as they play their final regular season basketball game against the highly touted Sunnyslope Vikings!! Game time is at 7pm. Hope to see all of you there!!
  • There will be a meeting after school today in Ms. Enk’s Room 225. Be there at 2:45. Everybody is invited to the boys’ basketball game tonight against the Slope Vikings. The girls’ softball team will be holding a 50/50 raffle.
  • All NHS students need to get their money - 15 dollars - for the t-shirt in today to Mr. Yard! And don't forget, we have a meeting tomorrow to finalize the plans.

  • If you need to make up a class, especially if you are a senior with missing credits, please stop by your counselor’s office to register for online classes. The registration deadline is TODAY. Each semester-long course is $150.
  • ASU bound seniors: Have you electronically filed your FAFSA forms yet? Sunday, Feb 1, is the deadline for submitting FAFSA in order to be qualified for the Obama Scholars program that is valued over $60,000. See Mrs. Starr today in the new Career Center in Room 229, if you need help. Don’t miss out on this opportunity of having your college education completely paid for.
  • ASU bound seniors: Today is your last day to get last minute help with your FAFSA forms. You need to submit your form electronically before Feb 1, which is Monday, in order to be considered for the $60,000 Obama scholars program. Help will be available in the Career Center, Room 229, during both lunches today.
  • Attention patriots: Did you know that 10.6% of American babies are born prematurely or with birth defects each year? Today is the last day to donate your spare change to March of Dimes to help give these babies a healthy start. The third hour class that raises the most money will win donuts and juice sponsored by the IHS Key Club. Simply look for the purple donation box in your 3rd hour class.

Their Shakespeare in the Schools Tour 2010 will perform the show on Monday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. in our Performing Arts Center. The show will last about an hour. This production is available to our students for a very small fee, which covers the group's touring costs. The ticket price is only $3.00. See Mrs. Godfrey in the choir room to sign up!

  • Attention Patriots! Both the boys’ and the girls’ basketball games have been cancelled for today and have been rescheduled for Monday, the 25th.
  • Any potential athlete who has not yet seen the sports safety video, it will be shown today after school in Coach Bondeson's Room, 223 at 2:45 p.m. This is a part of your sports clearance process so make plans to see it today!

  • Seniors: If you are planning on attending any campus of ASU, you need to be working on your FAFSA forms which need to be filed before Feb 1 in order to be considered for over $60,000 in financial aid. This is not an academic scholarship but solely based on financial need. If your family income is less than $60,000, you qualify & should receive this financial aid. Mrs. Starr in Room 229, the new Career Center, has a guide that will help you with this form.
  • Attention sophomores and juniors: If you are interested in the cosmetology or EMT programs, there will be a meeting today after school in the Media Center with Mr. Lettieri. Please be there on time!

Freshmen are White, sophomores are Red, juniors are blue and seniors are all out red, white and blue. Remember to show your spirit, participate in lunch games and dress up all week!
  • Hey everyone!! It’s that time of year, the spring musical is here! This year it's "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" based off the famous Peanuts comic strip. The Musical is open to everyone so if you’re interested please attend theatre club TODAY for more info. Hope to see you there!
  • Attention Spanish Club members, if you are going to the P.F. Chang's Rock n Roll Marathon, you need to pick-up a parental permission slip from Ms. Figueroa today.
  • There will be a Key Club meeting on Thursday, 1/14 at 245 in room R-5. All Key Club members should plan on attending this important meeting.
  • Attention all boys interested in playing tennis this spring! There will be a mandatory meeting this Friday in room B15 at 2:45pm. If you plan on playing tennis this spring you must attend this meeting.
  • There will be a mandatory girls' tennis meeting this Friday immediately after school in Mr. Bondeson's room (Room 223) for any girl interested in playing tennis this year. If you cannot make the meeting, please stop by and talk to me before the weekend.
  • Attention all swimmers and divers: There will be a brief meeting Thursday after school in Coach Hallum’s room, R 25. Please plan to attend. If you cannot for some reason stop by Coach Hallum’s room to get team information.
  • Friday is the deadline to donate items to be shipped to our soldiers and airmen who are stationed overseas. Items needed include black or green socks, soap, hand sanitizer, toothpaste and toothbrushes, books, pens, paper, envelopes, disposable razors, body wash, hard candy, gum, unscented wet wipes, lip balm, batteries, books and magazines. Items can be brought to the copy room, or Ms. Cass, Mrs. Milesic or Mrs. Eul's rooms.

Monday, January 11

  • If you need to make up a class, especially if you are a senior with missing credits, please stop by your counselor’s office to register for online classes. The registration deadline is Friday, January 29. Each semester-long course is $150.
  • The Math Club will meet tomorrow at 7:30 A.M. in Mrs. Eul's room R-19. We will be discussing the soldier item drive as well as the upcoming production of "Calculus- the Musical".
  • Attention all students wanting to try out for baseball this season, there are open field workouts Monday through Friday starting at 3:15. Any student wishing to attend open field needs to fill out a parent permission slip and turn it in to the Athletics office.
  • Hey Patriots! This week is Hoopcoming Spirit Week. Today is Jersey Day, Tuesday is Crazy Hair Day, Wednesday is Twin Day, Thursday is Mismatch Day and Friday is class colors. Freshmen are White, sophomores are Red, juniors are blue and seniors are all out red, white and blue. Remember to show your spirit, participate in lunch games and dress up all week!
  • Hey everyone!! It’s that time of year, the spring musical is here! This year it's "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" based off the famous Peanuts comic strip. The Musical is open to everyone so if you’re interested please attend theatre club next Tuesday January 12th for more info. Hope to see you there!
