April 1, 2010 Conference
On April 1, 2010 about 32 schools from FEA gathered for a conference and award ceremony.
During this I went on a campas tour of ASU, learned about speech pathology (which i became very interested in), and talked to actual college students about the college life.
At this even I won 3rd place in a blogging compitition! I was very excited.
Our school also won bronze for participation!
It was loads of fun at the conference and i recomend everyone in FEA go to those conference :) it is an enjoyable moment.
During this conference I went on a new career path! I now an interested in Special Education and Speech Pathology ^_^

SPRING BREAK 2010
Spring Break didn't feel long enough! I miss the three week breaks we use to have; they gave me enough time to rest and get the energy ready for school the next quarter. One week wasnt enough for me; I came back even more tired. During the break I went to Las Vegas. I waisted a lot of money ^_^ I went on many roller coasters and got sick. I saw a knight fighting show and crazy circus people. I walked a lot along the strip and a lot in the mall :) I won prizes while paying games and got to see an old friend. The many chapels there intrigued me; there are drive threw marriages *gasp*. This week is AIMS testing for the juniors and seniors.
This is for those who either did not pass or wants to get a better grade.

AIMS was not all that bad.
I feel that I did very well and hopefully changed my meets to exceeds :) I did my writing and reading aims again Febuary 23th and 24th
It was easy but stressful bcause it was my last chance.

Homecomming
Homecomming game is Friday September 25th and Homecomming dance is on Saturday September 26th...and spirit week is almost over =0
It is funny to see how the students chose to participate in the events and dressings of spirit week.
Monday was mime day!
Tuesday was twin day!
Wendsay was sideshow/animal day!
Thursday is clown day!
Friday is red white and blue day!
We won our Homecomming Game 47-7 :)

Sports are very important in a high school.
I know I try to get very involved in sports and support my friends that are also involved.
We had our 1st 2009-2010 assembly Friday August 28, 2009
It was a very interesting one and seemed inpossibly to do because of the one aseebly and trying to fit the whole school in there. However, that was very sucessful (but hopefully won't happen again).
I have to say that clearly the Seniors did not win the IHS chant! Juniors were indeed the loudest! :)
We need more school spirit here at IHS. The longer you go to the school the more atteached you get.

SWEEPS
THERE IS INFACT NO POINT IN SWEEPS.
SWEEPS TAKE AWAY THE EDUCATION OF THE STUDENTS.
INSTEAD OF SIMPLY ALLOWING THE STUDENT IN THE CLASSROOM TO LEARN THEY ARE SENT OFF TO NOT LEARN A THING.
ISN'T THIS A SCHOOL???? AREN'T WE SUPPOSE TO LEARN???
I WAS TAUGHT THAT WE ARE NOT TO BE DENIED AN EDUCATION, HOWEVER, SWEEPS IS DENYING US AN EDUCATION!!
SO I THINK THAT PRETTY MUCH SWEEPS IS PRETTY MUCH AGAINST THE LAW IS IT NOT??!!

CRAZY ABOUT THE RULES!
THE NEW RULES AT INDEPENDENCE ARE A LITTLE OVER THE TOP DONT YOU THINK IHS!
MY FRESHMAN YEAR WAS THE BEST YEAR HERE AND THEN AFTER THAT IT WENT DOWN HILL..
I AM NOW A JUNIOR AND FEEL LIKE THE RULES HAVE GOTTON CRAZY EACH YEAR.
- 1ST WAS THE BANISHMENT OF PHONES MY SOPHOMORE YEAR. ( WHICH STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE THEIR CELL PHONES AND ELECRTONIC DEVICES AT LUNCH AND INBETWEEN CLASSES BUT OUT OF SITE DURING CLASS...THAT SEEMS MORE REASONABLE)
- NEXT IS ALL THE CRAZY RULES THIS YEAR SUCH AS NO HOLES IN PANTS, SHIRTS CANT BE LONGER THEN YOUR WRISTS, AND NO HAIR COLORING (I THINK IF THE SCHOOL IS GOING TO HAVE THESE RULES THEY SHOULD PAY FOR IT AND ALSO THEY ARE TAKING AWAY THE STYLE OF THE STUDENTS. The new rules at IHS!
Some may say that the rules are "wack!"
I have to agree in some situations.
Some of the clothing rules are a little to far such as the no holes in your pants and that your shirt can't be longer then your wrists.
Also another one is taking away hair coloring...
All this is taking away the uniqueness of the students.
Also I think the they made the no phones rule a little over the top.
We should be able to use it during lunch and in between classes like we use to.
Sweeps should not occur at school. It is simply taking away the learning time for the students. Some students can't get to their class in time because of bathroom emergencies or teachers keeping the students in longer.
Sweeps is not allowing the students to learn so it has no purpose in thi…
